SafeCut Mantis Pruning Saw and Grapple Tree Shears

Within the SafeCut brand, the MANTIS range of products focuses on delivering innovative, unparallel solutions to the mechanised arb market. The Mantis Multi-Axis Tree Pruning attachment is an innovation from Jas P Wilson, with patent protection. It has been designed and developed in our UK facilities, within the same factory setting which produces the highly regarded Botex range of forestry trailers and timber loaders.

Will this tree trimming equipment fit my tractor/loader/excavator?

We stock a range of machinery to suit compact loaders and to heavy plant machinery, and our team can create bespoke hitches or brackets to pair our
machinery with your base machine. We can also provide forestry guarding for a range of tractors & excavators.

How do I choose the right attachment for my machine?

Typically, users would access the requirements of their site and workload, taking note of the typical tasks required, to then look for attachments optimised to this
workload. From there, our team are on hand to talk through the various specifications and base machine requirements, such as oil flow and hydraulic. Our team will then work to produce any bespoke hitches, and then Jas P Wilson’s delivery and installation team will ensure that your machine is optimised to get to work.

Are these attachments compatible with all brands of machinery (e.g. John Deere, Kubota, JCB)?

Yes – our team can offer expert technical advice requires, and our national network of Jas P Wilson employed Regional Service Technicians can visit to offer comprehensive support to ensure your base machine and the new attachment work seamlessly.

Our workshop facilities can also upgrade your base machine, if additional pipes or systems are required. What types of trees or branches can this equipment handle?

Tree shears up to 400mm diameter – the JAK excavator grapple saw with rotator can cut up to 600mm.

Can this equipment be used for hedge cutting or only tree trimming?

Yes some contractors will use it on large hedge “reductions” where the height is brought down to a more manageable/aesthetically pleasing height, or e.g. farmers might use it on some boundary lines, where larger diameter trees are more prevalent than thinner branches, where a standard hedge trimmer would be used.

Is this equipment suitable for commercial forestry or agricultural use?

Yes – this machinery is designed to support commercial arboriculture and forestry operations.

Is it easy to switch between attachments on site?

Yes they are on a “quick hitch” system, with machinery supplied with a hitch to allow operators to quickly detach this, uncouple the hoses, and swap to another attachment within a few minutes.

Is installation or setup required, or is it plug-and-play?

Attachments can be plug-and-play but for some attachments, where optimisation is required, our expert team are available to support.

Is training needed to operate this equipment safely?

We can offer training on a wide range of machinery, delivering industry recognised certification – please enquire.

Does this equipment meet UK safety or agricultural machinery standards?

All machinery has CE and UKCA marks.

How long does delivery take in the UK?

We have a range of in stock machinery and access to order non-stock units with relatively short lead times. Any bespoke hitches can be made within the week of order, so orders can be fulfilled in a short period of time. Delivery is either then either via the pallet network or delivered on our own haulage.

Is there a warranty included with the product?

Yes, 1 year manufacturing warranty on all products, with the 2-ram JAK models benefiting from a 2 year warranty. These are the 200/250/300 R, B & K models.

Do you offer spare parts or servicing for these attachments?

Yes comprehensive UK stock holding, and national network of JPW employer service technicians.
